About this training

For Autistic people who are identified in adulthood, there is often an experience of deeply-internalised stigma, which will have unknowingly impacted them in significant ways across multiple domains of their lives; ranging from their identity development, to the relationship they might have with themselves, their bodies, their needs, and also other people.

This course studies the intersectional ecology of stigma surrounding Autistic people, finding out where that stigma comes from, how it is often applied, and how it might be felt by those receiving it.

Importantly, it also explores how we might make a shift from that ecology of stigma to an ecology of nurture; one which curates connection, safety, and support, and recognises the privileges needed to make that shift.
